NYX Round Lipsticks+swatches

Hey lovelies!
I've been meaning to do this post for a while now as I've had these lippies since last year.
We have a very limited selection of cosmetics in SVG and so I was able to purchase my NYX products
on ebay from a wonderful seller who ships internationally at a very reasonable rate.
I was also able to buy them in bulk which allowed me to save a few bucks.

I love these lipsticks. The creamy ones that is. I'm not a fan of lipstick formulas with shimmer in them so
colors like Watermelon, Goddess and Indian Pink did not appeal to me.

My faves of the bunch are Black Cherry, Hades, Tea Rose, Thalia, Doll, Louisiana and Eucalyptus.

I think Eucalyptus can be a dupe for MAC's Girl About Town and Black Cherry reminds me of a creamier version of MAC's Cunning.

If you don't live in the US and want to get your hands on some of these...you can check out dwmiriamscosmetics on ebay! And if you do live in the US you can check her out too lol.

Enjoy!
 xoxo

 My Collection :)

L-R: Orion, Honey, Hades, Tea Rose, Thalia, Doll
L-R: Black Cherry, Medusa, Louisiana, Indian Pink
L-R: Watermelon, Goddess, Aphrodite, Eucalyptus

Barbados Haul!

Hey guys!
So I spent Valentines week in Barbados for a business trip which I was pretty excited about because they have a MAC counter. I ended up making a teeny purchase along with some other bits including re-purchases of Lacoste Touch of Pink and Beyonce Heat perfumes. What I eally wanted was Rihanna's Reb'l Fleur but it was not yet available.

I also ended up getting Revlon's Colorstay foundation in Caramel (to mix with toast to see if I'd get a better match), MAC's Moisturelush moisturizer, Revlon's Fabulash mascara, Revlon's Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss and Clean & Clear's Morning Glow Moisturizer with SPF 15. I decided not to go crazy at the MA counter as I'm headed to the US in a month or so and will do the damage there lol.

Reviews soon to come on:
MAC Pro Longwear foundation and concealer
 MAC Moisturelsh Moisturizer
 Revlon Fabulash Mascara

The Goodies

MAC Pro Longwear Foundation (NC45), MAC PLW Concealer (NC45), Revlon Colorstay Foundation (Combo/oily) in Caramel

MAC Coppering, Woodwinked & Rice-paper

Swatchies

Revlon Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss

Lippes Wishlist

Hey lovelies. So these days I've been OBSESSING about MAC lipsticks. I pretty much used to be a gloss girl but the older I get, the more I love the look and feel of lipsticks over the tackiness of lipgloss. Every brand I've tried has felt so 'heavy' on my lips that I use them sparingly these days.

Anyhoo, I'm heading to the US in a month or so and I've compiled a list of lip products that I must get my hands on. I'm gonna list a few. Check em out! and leave  a comment with your favorite lipstick below.

Much love. XoXo

An update....and a review!

Hey guys. How have you been? I've been terribly busy with work, traveling and the like and have not even had time to read the blogs :(

I was recently in Barbados for a business trip and had the opportunity to visit their MAC counter there (yay). I was pretty excited because we don't have one in St. Vincent. I picked up a few things which I'll post swatches and reviews on a little later. I finally got my hands on three eyeshadows I've been lemming (woodwinked, coppering and rice paper), the Pro-longwear foundation and concealer and the moisture-lush moisturizer....all which I love. They didn't have any of the lippies I wanted.

What I really wanted to tell you about, however, is the foundation. I have various MAC foundations all which are okay but nothing that I'd keep buying. I actually prefer my Revlon Colorstay to any of the previous MAC foundations that I own but my recent purchase has changed my mind!! Don't get me wrong...I still lovem y color stay but the PLW is AMAZING!

According to the MAC website the Pro Longwear foundation gives up to 15 hours of wear in any environmental condition...it provides sheer to medium coverage...controls oil...and provides SPF (10) protection.

Now living in the Caribbean, finding a foundation that wears well through our hot climate is a major challenge. Even my beloved colorstay gets oily in my T-zone after 4 or so hours....but the Pro Longwear really does give you up to 12 hours. I've worn this three times since I bought it and for one of those times....I've worn it for about 13 hours (I applied it at 9 am and took it off around 11pm) and it still looked as fresh as when I applied it. It hasn't broken me out (but then again MAC foundations never do) and it kept oil at bay ALL day. It can be a little drying though so I suggest you use a really good moisturizer underneath (hence me buying moisture lush) for it to wear better. Also, taking this thing off requires more than just cleanser. I use ponds cold cream with a face wipe, my face wash (cream) as well as toner to make sure  get it all off.

On another note, this foundation applies best (for me) with a foundation brush like the MAC 190. My Sigma F80 didn't do it justice as all and i looked heavily made up. It dries quickly so you have to work really fast and buff it into your skin. I also find that the flat top kabuki left me looking heavily made up while the other foundation brush gave me a more natural finish (semi-matte). I set it with my MSF Natural although I think you may not even need powder....I just thrown on the MSF to bring more balance to my face.

That aside, I fully recommend this (especially if you live in very hot/humid climates). For reference, I'm an NC45.
And, the concealer is just as good! But that's another review! lol

If you have any questions, let me know!

Have a great day loves!

*kisses*

MU Guru Series [1]

Hey guys. So a lot of the time I spend online is used reading blogs or watching you-tube videos. Although I'm subscribed to a lot of people on you-tube, there are very few individuals that I actually look forward to seeing videos from. So, I present to you my favorites (in no particular order). Enjoy!

First up is Erin from Scandalous Beauty. I like her because she's very down to earth and has a great personality. I love the way she sometimes tries products for the first time for her viewers and you get her honest, first impression reaction. I really LOVE her videos and I always watch whenever she posts a new video.

You can check her out @ her blog, facebook, you-tube.

She is also the founder of a website for Brown Girls called Brown Beauty Bloggers

Enjoy!
