Are you into Earrings?

I am!!!

I also have a thing for quite unique looking pieces that have that 'one of a kind' feel. Well I was browsing you-tube this morning and catching up on vids from my favorite makeup gurus when I came across Jackie's Video.

She's one of my favorite gurus and i LOVE her makeup looks and application but what caught my eyes this morning were her earrings! I.MUST.HAVE.

They're apparently from a company called La'Bella Coutoure1 and they have some extremely gorgeous pieces. I'm in love! Once they ship internationally, I'll be pacing a major order!

Go check em out and if you make any purchases let me know what you got :)

Check out her blog and give it a go :)

March Favourites: Skin Care

Hey lovelies! So this is my first 'favorites post' on the blog.
Today I'm doing my favorite skin care products for the Month of March. I'm a creature of habit and I often use what works for me so this not be a monthly thing however if there us any change in the routine, I'll let you guys know.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser: I love this thing! I've been using it for over a month now and it's as amazing as people say it is. It's the only wash I've used that cleanses my face of EVERYTHING (even heavy duty makeup) without over drying it. I love it! I usually use it after I get home from work to really clean my skin from any product I would have used during the day.

Neutrogena Deep Clean (For Normal to Oily Skin): I use this on mornings when taking a shower. I believe in preventative measures and although I don't get break-outs, this helps with the occassional pimple I might get around that time of the month.

St. Ives Timeless Skin Apricot Scrub  (Exfoliates to help visibly tone & firm skin)

I went to purchase the normal scrub and picked this one up by accident. It contains AHAs which are good for keeping your skin 'young' and supple.  It works well as a scrub and I like it. It also seems to be less harsh than the original which has a very gritty/grainy feel. I'd certainly repurchase when I run out.

MAC MoistureLush Cream:

I bought this to use under my pro-longwear foundation (MAC) as it can look cakey if your face isn't properly moisturized. I've been using it at night too and I must say that my skin loves it! It hasn't broken me out and despite it being a heavy moisturiser, it doesn't leave me looking oily and greasy. And a little is all you need! I've been using this for the past month and it still looks untouched! It contains no SPF though which is okay by me as my foundations take care of that.

Clean & Clear Morning Glow Moisturizer with SPF 15

This is my daily moisturizer. It's much lighter than the MoistureLush and it's what I reach for most days.

I use a toner occasionally but nothing I really like all that well so I won't mention it.

ASOS.com (and my mini shopping spree)

I hate shopping in St. Vincent. I often find that the clothes here are over-priced (because we import a lot) and are not suitable to the kind of climate that we live in. I usually shop online which can be difficult as not most places ship internationally or the shipping charges are just not worth it. Which is why I love ASOS.COM
They do free shipping world-wide which is amazing and they often have discounts on their lines. They sell a variety of stuff from clothing to shoes, bags and even make-up. If you've never heard of them, check them out.
Packages usually take about 2-3 weeks to get to me.

Here's my recent order

Review + [mini] Giveaway! CLOSED

Hey dolls! I'm often surprised when I click on my blog and see that I have a new follower (the reaction is literally "OMG they like what I post"? lol) I want to thank everyone for being a follower and for interacting with me through my blog.

Now yesterday, I received my SIGMA brushes and after cleaning them last night they were ready for use this morning. I won't review them all in one post because haven't had a chance to properly use them yet but I must say that I think they are a worthwhile investment.

I really like the face brush (I've been wanting a proper one for a while) and my face literally sighed as I applied my setting powder this morning; the bristles were so soft!

Another of my faves is actually a brush (E25) I would not have bought due to the fact that it's travel size (I have a thing for full length brushes) but it as sent to my as a gift for making a purchase over $30.00 ( an extra brush you say??? lol)

I used it this morning to apply my eye-shadow base (paint-pot) and I really liked the way it applied the product. I usually use my fingers but this brush allowed me to give my lid a perfect wash without applying too much product. The E25 will definitely become a staple in my routine and you can have one too! Yep, I'm giving one away (From Sigma through my blog)

1. You must be a public follower of my blog
3. You must be over 18. If not please get your parent's permission
4. Leave a comment on this blog post (and if you're a new follower, leave me your blog addy)
5. Leave your email address so that I can contact you!
6. If you decide to make a blog post or link to your blog about the giveaway, please let me know.

This giveaway is open INTERNATIONALLY! And the winner would be chosen using random.org

So enjoy!
Giveaway ends 5th April, 2011

Cup-cake, schmupcakes :D

I'm seeing them everywhere! On you tube, on blogs on face-book, everyone seems to be into making cup-cakes! Even my mom! I swear she makes em every weekend and even though I don't like cake all that much, my birthday 'cake' consisted of 27 cup-cakes.
Was there a cup-cake memo sent out that I didn't get?

They are so pretty  though! And tempting!

[Red Velvet]

[Red Velvet CupQuakes]
[The Birthday CupQuake]
[Coconut Cupquake...*licks screen*]

[Red Velvet CupQuake with Chocolate Frosting]

[Classic Vanilla CupQuake with vanilla frosting & sprinkles]

What's In Your (Salad) Bowl?

I love to cook. I'm pretty good at it...but I will admit that I hate slaving over a hot stove especially when I'm making a meal for one.
I love quick fixes (oats and cereal for b/fast, salads and sandwiches for lunch and salad, soups or stir-frys for dinner) and the majority of what I eat takes 15 mins or less to prepare. These days I've been eating lots of salads and actually enjoying them (yum!). I often buy mixed bags of salad leaves or romaine lettuce and toss in grilled chicken or shrimp...and then the idea hit: Why not GROW my own lettuce, salad stuff etc?

I love Romaine. And Rocket. And Endive. And Spinach. And of late, I've been adding parsley and mint leaves to the mix.

What about you? Do you like salads? What do you add to yours? More importantly, WHAT seeds sould I invest in? Lemme know!

*NEW* From Sleek Makeup: Avoir la Pêche collection

Ahhhh. My favourite London drugstore brand. I own quite a few of the palettes and the majority of lip polishes and I must say that for the price, Sleek can rival a lot of department store brands.
This new collection would be lovely for spring/summer and for those of us that live in the Caribbean it would be great for all year round.

It contains gorgeous neutrals, golds, peaches and orange shades, with a little plum to mix it all up.
Retails for £6.99

Pout Polish: Sugar May. *sigh* I want this. I don't need it, but I want it.

Blush: Pan Tao
I LOVE orange blush. LOVE
Retail: £4.29

If you live in the UK, they can be found at Superdrug. If you don't, Sleek ships internationally, HOWEVER, I think it's just a tad bit pricey. I may very well overlook that with this collection though just because I MUST have that blush. And pout polish. And palette.

Happy Sunday All.

Korres Lip Butter [Pomegranate]: A Review

The one one product that I can never get enough of is lip moisturizers.
I own tons of chap sticks, lip butters, lip conditioners and I keep buying more!
They're pretty easy to pick up and I sometimes keep 2 or 3 different ones on me at a time.

I received the Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate from a friend last year and I was pretty excited about trying  it. I'd bought into the youtube/beauty community hype and it pretty much became a 'must have' item for me

It is described as a 'buttery lip-balm that melts on your lips and cheeks for a pretty touch of color'. It contains shea butter (always good) and heals lips and provides a softening touch to the skin.

Well I, personally, have never tried this on my cheeks so I can't comment on that aspect, however, I must say that it's a pretty okay lip product.

pretty ok. nothing to write home about.
Now don't get me wrong. I love the creamy formula and the way it glides onto my lips. What i don't like, is the way it makes my lips feel.
I can actually 'feel' the product on it and that annoys me...slightly.  I will say, however, that it's a GREAT lipstick base because it's not to smooth/slippery. It has no discernible scent and gives a little bit of color.
I've noticed on occasion that it has a tendency of clumping to any dry patches on my lips, which to me is a bit strange.
To be honest, I much prefer my Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner or my chap-sticks.
Would I purchase this once it's done? No
I'm actually trying to use it up quickly :(

Have you tried the LBs from Korres? your thoughts?
Have a safe day guys!

Make-up Tag :)

2. How did you get into makeup? I was a chap-stick buff...but I also had a friend that owned a cosmetics store and I got my first summer job with her. Being around all that MU all day sorta pulled me into it.

3. What are some of your favorite brands? MAC, NARS, Rimmel London and NYX

4. What does makeup mean to you? It makes me feel like a kid again lol but I also think it's a way of enhancing how you look.
