Ruby Kisses Cosmetics Haul

It's been a minute since I've posted a proper haul/swatch type post but for this one I had to take the time out of the very hectic schedule to show you these. I went into Kismet Beauty Supplies last week Friday to see the beautiful Display of Ruby Kisses products. I'd read about the brand but never had the opportunity to try their products. Girly Gifts for Christmas- Guest Post

Christmas is upon us again and it is time again to start thinking about what to buy that special girl in your life. There are some really cool makeup and nail sets out this year as well as some cute fashion accessories. I am going to give you some suggestions and try and lead you in the right direction because I know how hard it is sometimes to decide what to buy.

  1. Sephora Studio Blockbuster Palette Makeup ( This makeup kit contains tons of eye shadows (96) and lip glosses (84) along with cream eyeliners, eye liner pencils, blushes, a bronzer, a mascara, and four applicators. From what I understand it is being discontinued and you can not get it in the stores but there are some left at Amazon.

  1. Pins and Needles Backless Lace Dress ( This is an adorable lace dress that comes in nine different colors! A sweet dress for that sweet girl on your list. It would make a great date night outfit or party dress with the right accessories.

  1. Cooperative Animal Beanie ( I just think this beanie just too cute and would be a great wintertime accessory for those upcoming cold days. Keep your favorite girl warm and toasty and add a little more of the cuteness factor as well.

  1. Birth Month Flower Necklaces ( Here is a precious necklace that would work with any outfit and it is a truly unique gift that any woman would enjoy wearing. I didn’t know there was a birth month flower but I think it is a great idea. What women doesn’t like flowers and jewelry and this gift puts them together nicely.

  1. Ciate’ Caviar Manicure Set ( For the girl that loves manicures and loves to stand out in a crowd this is the gift. This manicure has a 3-D effect using beads. It is a two step process to complete this look and it will bring the desired result when your nails are the hit of the party!

  1. Cooperative Boucle Eternity Scarf (  I love this scarf and it comes in four really pretty colors! The reviews say that it is very light weight but extremely warm. This gorgeous scarf would compliment any outfit keeping you styling while being practical at the same time.

  1. Color Rox Hair Chox: Temporary Hair Color Kit ( As the name states this is a temporary hair color kit that comes with five hair color chox, grips, beads, and thread to create a different hair color and style to match any outfit or mood.

  1. Kimchi Blue Emma Crepe Dress ( This dress comes in a beautiful shade of blue and is so sexy sweet. It has wonderful reviews and it seems it is the perfect length and very complimentary. Here is another dress that would look great at any holiday or special event.

  1. Title Unknown Oversized Rose Slub Tee ( For those casual days when you want something to throw on and still have style here is a shirt that works. Paired with your favorite pair of jeans and you will be ready to head out.

  1. Twilight Breaking Dawn “Bella’s” Engagement Ring and Wedding Band Set ( For those Twi-hards we all know and love this is the perfect gift. Bring someone the magic of Bella and Edward’s romance with this beautiful ring set.

  1. Stila Holiday Lip Glaze ( A festive glaze to lighten up any holiday look that comes in a set of eight colors would make a great gift for any girl this season. The extra moisturizing formula will keep your lips looking good and feeling soft.

  1. Story of the Earth Set of 7 Bracelets ( These are handmade bracelets that draw their beauty from the sights and colors of nature. They would be adorable worn all together, mixed, or individually giving you a relaxed sort of retro hippy era vibe.

  1. The Wah Nails Book of Nail Art ( Nail art is all the trend now and adds that glam look to any occasion. This book gives you step by step instructions how to create those looks you have seen but did not know how to do yourself.

  1. A Little Love Earrings ( This would make a great stocking stuffer for your favorite girl. A small, petite pair of silver earrings in a sweet cursive hand written look that simply spells out love.

  1. NPW Nail Art Glitter ( Another great stocking stuffer to add a little sparkle to your manicure this season! With five bright and glittery colors you will find a shade to go with any outfit.

  1. Sari Bag ( Handmade bags from India made from recycled saris. These are colorful and ruffled and just fun. They are layered in silk and rayon in varied colors depending on the sari they are made from. The inner lining is white cotton with only a single side pocket which leaves a whole lot of room for whatever! The bag is closed with a button and loop fastener but has a fabric cord to tie the bag closed for security. I just love this bag and think it would make a great addition to any wardrobe.

  1. Ecote Printed Velvet Mini Skirt ( What is not to love about velvet in the dark rich colors that tell us winter is indeed here? From what I can gather the reviews seem to agree that it is not too short and pretty much fits to your usual size. Would be great with a nice warm pair of sheer tights and suede boots/shoes and a soft and cozy sweater.

  1. Hoodie-Footie Leopard and More ( Perfect for those cold nights in! Pajamas with feet and hoods in leopard print, rabbit ears, and there appears to be a panda in the group as well. They also come in solid colors and in sets of three or more.

  1. Polarity Recycled Magnetic Locket ( These adorable locket necklaces are cool because you can change them up so easily. They come with a set of three magnetic lids that are both artistic and interesting. You can choose from four different sets and even buy just the lids to add even more variety to your locket. As an added advantage, they are all made by local artists and from recycled materials, so they are great in more ways than one.

  1. byCORPUS Burnout Flannel Shirt ( There is just something about a flannel shirt that says winter to me. This shirt is one that is thin enough to wear even when the heat is on, has that rugged used look, and is not so oversized that you feel like you borrowed your dad’s shirt. A great choice for the fashion conscious, it comes in three great color combinations.

These are just a few of the awesome gifts that are out there for Christmas 2012. I have never seen such a wide variety of awesome and affordable gifts. Best of all you can order them online and avoid the crowds. Have fun, give good gifts, and enjoy your holidays!

Skin Care and Everyday Face

I've been having some really good skin days lately. I can't complain at all. I've been using a mix of products. The Body Shop Vitamin C line which I can forever sing praises about and the Germaine de Capuccini line I purchased from my spa technician*. The latter is great for oily skin and usually use them on days when my skin seems to be a bit more oilier than usual. The Vitamin C line has been fantastic at making my skin brighter and not as dull as it used to look on some days.

 Love both of these lines!

Germain de Cappuccini Purifying Cleansing Foam and Balancing Gel

Missing from this picture: Facial Cleansing Polish, Microdermabrasion, Eye Treatment and the Facial Radiance Powder (laziness lol)

My everyday face routine consists of the Revlon Whipped Cream Foundation in Toast, MAC's Pinch Me and/or Gingerly blush, Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze, UD Naked Palette (original), MAC's Captive Lipstick, MAC Careblend Powder in Dark, L'oreal Lipgloss, UD lipgloss (came with the palette). I've been doing a bronze-brown or taupe-brown type of eye, no liner, mascara and a plummy lip.

That Revlon foundation is the truth though. Blends seamlessly. Lasts a long time (never tested for 24hrs) and does not melt in this heat!! It's a smidgen too light on some areas of my face so I warm it up by adding my MAC Pro longwear (NC45) concealer too it which is too orange for me. Works really well!

Later loves <3 p="p">

*For those of you in St. Vincent who wish to access the Germaine de Cappuccini products you can contact Therese at Precision Contours Beauty Clinic. She does amazing manis, pedis and facials. I also get my brows waxed there and she has done an amazing job at helping me to grow them back to a more natural shape.

I am woman: fearless, elegant, strong. We love women who strike powerful poses, stand out, redefine the notion of beauty – and do it with an inner/outer strength that`s irresistibleand impossible to ignore. Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation and More Red Lipstick

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

MAC Ruffian Red Lipstick

Why do I have two foundations? The online guide isn't very good. For reference I'm MAC NC44/45 and going by the models on the Urban Decay website I should have been wearing the 7.0. It is, however, too light and I needed to add a darker powder over it for it to work. Unfortunately in pictures it had that awful grey cast. The 8.0 fits perfectly.

I got another red lippie. The obsession continues.

I'm putting the UD Naked Skin 7.0 up for sale in my blog sale section. Let me know if you're interested.

Reviews on the foundation coming soon!

Recent Blush Purchases

Picked these up at a local beauty supply store (Kismet for those of you in SVG) and got them at a STEAL. Paid $30ECD each as they're now going at very reduced prices. Blunt really does make an amazing contour and I love the plummy shades. Harmony is a bit of an everyday shade and not very pigmented on my skin tone. You have to pile loads on to make it show up! Let me know if you need swatches :)

Top Row: L-R Flirt & Tease, Deep Plum, Love-rush
Bottom Row L-R: Harmony, Sincere, Blunt

My Make-up Collection

I've finally been able to get a 'dedicated' make-up station. Decided to take pictures of my collection.
